Who can read my journal entries on HuniWhisp?
Only you, unless you choose to share. Private entries stay private and are encrypted at rest. When you do post publicly, the entry carries no name unless you deliberately attach one — anonymous is the default, not an option you have to locate. You can export everything you have written at any time, or delete your account and remove it.
Private, anonymous, and named are three different things
A private entry is visible to nobody but you. Nothing about it appears in a feed, a search result, or a profile.
An anonymous post is public but unattributed — readers see the writing, not the writer. There is no username, avatar, or profile link on it.
A named post is one you have explicitly signed with your pen name. This is always a deliberate action, and it is the only way your writing gets connected to the rest of your activity.
What we never ask you for
No real name. No phone number. No selfie or identity verification. No access to your contacts.
This is a deliberate limit rather than a feature we have not built yet. Every identifier a service collects becomes something that can leak or be compelled later, so the safest handling of that data is not to hold it.
Moderation, and the one honest exception
Public posts pass through moderation so the space stays usable — that means reviewing reported content, which is a human reading a public post. It does not mean browsing private entries.
The genuine exception anywhere online is lawful legal process. We would rather say that plainly than imply a guarantee no platform can actually make.
Common questions
Are private journal entries really private?
Yes. Private entries are not surfaced in any feed, search, or profile, and are encrypted at rest. They are not part of moderation, which only reviews public posts.
Can I make an anonymous post named later?
Yes. You can attach your pen name to a post after the fact if you decide you want to own it. The reverse direction is yours to control too, and the choice is never made for you.
Can I get a copy of everything I have written?
Yes — you can export your writing from your account at any time, including before deleting the account.
