I love my adoptive dad
(Excuse my english, is my first language, im just kinda dumb)
So, I have a solo dad, he was always this kind man, gentle, he never even swear near me or my brother and never raised his voice, I mean, he did sometimes when we was being loud asf and wouldn't stop arguing, but that didn't changed the fact that he was extremely sweet. Me and my twin didn't knew we're adopted, after all, we look kinda similar to our dad, blue eyes just like his, blonde hair, I mean, me and my twin have dirty blond hair but it isn't a big difference. My bio parents reach out for my dad when me and my brother were 11, our dad asked if we wanted to pass sometime with our real parents, at first me and my brother were so confused, like, what u mean we have three parents??, why did they never showed up before?, but we decided to go by the simple fact that we had a real mother and we always wanted a complete family, mother, father, dog, cat, like those on movies, and they even had a fricking house, it was a dream coming true for two twins that lived in a boxed up apartment with a solo dad that was a teacher that we had to see both in school and at home. You might ask, why my dad accepted to let us stay at strangers house?, he didn't wanted to private us from meeting our biological parents and like I said he's a big softie, one look sad from two 11 years old and he's crumbling, so he let us stay for 8 hours with our bio parents, and they were just incredible, they had this small house with two bedrooms and a yard, they had good food from big brands that our dad never buyed cuz he was a brokeass teacher, they had cool games, took us to arcade, I really felt like they came out of a movie, and when they dropped out back to my dad apartment, I actually felt sad in having to go inside, not because I didn't loved my dad, he's incredible, we even bragged to him all night about my parents, it was just because I had real parents, waiting for me and my brother in a real house. So we started going more to their house, staying a few nights, until our dad finally let us stay a whole week, then two, then three, it wasn't bad, we still could see our dad at school, we just stopped living with him, we still visited twice a week when we stayed a whole month at my parents house, my dad accepted, I mean, I couldn't see how much it hurted him, I was just eleven, but now I know it did because it was literally seeing the kids he took care off for 10 years going away, and me and my brother just seemed so happy that he didn't wanted to ruin it all, so after 7 months of meeting my bio parents, me and my brother moved in with them, officially at 12 years old, at first it was normal but things started to change slowly, the house getting messier and we stopped receiving goodnight kisses, and then we started seeing them drink and smoke, it was weird for me and my brother because we knew a few adults did that but our dad never did, they were just so different from him, they actually cursed infront of us with was such a huge deal at first, but we thought that all adults are different and they were still our parents and they were sweet, a little bit more distant, but that was okay, at least for two 12 years old, but then the raised voices started, my brother broke a plate and my father screamed at him, it was so scary because dad never raised his voice with us, father did apologize, but the screaming got more frequent from him and my mother, until the first hit came, me and my brother were fighting about some stupid cartoon and I wanted to watch Flintstones and he didn't, so he kept fighting for the controller until we broke it, father got mad, way more that he did before, he hit my brother real hard in the head and he pulled my hair, he yelled that we was two brats and that our adoptive dad gave us no manners, that night me and my brother cried, we missed our dad, the morning after father apologized and made breakfast, but the hits got more frequent at the point that we had to start hiding the bruises, one day when we went to visit dad, he saw a bruise in my brother arm and asked what happened, we lied, we said we was playing and I hurted him accidentally, I thought he was going to be mad but he didn't, he laughed and took care of the bruise, told us to be more careful and I cried and when my brother saw me crying, he started to cry too, dad was confused to why and we just said that we missed him, he said he missed us too, he did dinner and we watched a movie, I felt safe in weeks, but then we had to go back "home" and I remember that in the car, mother and father kept complaining about my dad, how we should stop visiting him because he was in his middle 30's and living in a tight and messy apartment, hypocritical of them, their house was way worst, so we had to start visiting less because father didn't answered dad calls and we didn't had dad phone number to call him, we still saw at school which was nice, but dad was busy in school, it's his work, so the times he actually could talk with our parents was in the end of the day when everyone was leaving, my parents marked dates and never really took us to dad house, once they forgot to go get us so dad just took us to his apartment, it felt like old times, walking home, him counting coins for ice cream just to buy three balls of ice-cream for my brother and a milkshake and never get anything for himself. The night we passed at his house felt peaceful, no fear of waking up to my parents screaming, just actual warm food and good sleep, I won't lie, I missed sleeping on top of my dad, but in the morning when he was doing breakfast to take us to school, we heard knocking on the door and when dad opened it, father and mother were there, they're so angry, father kept yelling and shoving his first at dad chest, cursing him, saying that he wanted to rob us again from them, I remember when father punched my dad, it was ugly, because you could hear that agonizing crack when the punched hit dad nose, mother took us back to the car, father came right after, it was the last time we saw dad for two weeks, he didn't showed up to school for a few days (later he explained to me and my brother that his breathing was so bad with a broken nose that he couldn't speak a lot before having to catch his breath, and that it hurted and he's a history teacher so yk), when we saw him again he asked so many questions, like how our parents treated us, how everything was going, if they hurted and I was so tired and mad that I just told him to leave me and my brother alone, that he wasn't our real parent and that he should stop caring, I saw him holding back tears and nodding before saying we could go back to class, it was weird to see him sad, I remember hearing him sob when we left, the only times I saw him cry was in my and my brother birthdays and in animals movies or documentaries, no-one lied when they said he was a big softie. Then my parents had a big fight and they stopped talking to eachother, mother got her things and went away, father got more aggressive before finally dropping us back at dad apartment, which was so weird having to knock in his door with a bag full of my and my brother's clothes at 2AM, but he was so happy in see us that it was stupid, I remember crying so hard in his arms and telling everything and saying how sorry I was, he seemed mad and sad and relieved all at the same time, but he still didn't yelled, he made the bed, let us take a bath, microwaved dinner and gave us goodnight kisses, it felt incredible, because it felt like home. Our parents tried to reach us a few times back in the past, dad just took it to justice, which worked and my parents couldn't get 10 feet close to my dad or me and my twin. Now im 21, im so glad I have a dad who actually gives a fuck about me, I honestly regret ever wanting to met my parents when I had everything I could ask for in a tiny apartment, a dad who counted coins to buy us things and who told us history to sleep like a big
