No one has space for me anymore.
"Oh but you have friends and family, there's always someone who cares—"
Please don't.
I know it's well intentioned. It's just false in my case, and I don't need the ache of knowing 99% of everyone else has someone who genuinely listens and cares.
To be clear, I do live with a friend (not sure whether they're my best friend anymore), and I do have a chosen mom. Both feel very, very distant right now.
I've been building up to my wit's end with my roommate. They don't act interested in anything I say or do. They don't ask anything, they don't check in... I just end up word vomiting to them for nothing but a lukewarm autopilot response.
My chosen mom's situation is more complicated. She had surgery to remove stage 1 breast cancer a few months back and hasn't been the same since. I picked a baaad time to fess up to feeling like I'm not as much a son to her as she is a mom to me. Not that she got aggravated with me or anything.
Those two are all I have. I'm talking to a woman who told me she had the bandwidth to listen, so I vented and tried to tell her I invite advice/comfort. She basically told me what the "correct" way to receive advice is.
What the hell do I do now?
