Once upon a time there was a girl Who could have anything and everything she wanted with the wave of her hand She got everything she wanted Had all her friends who loved her All the comforts she could want And yet it wasnt enough The girl was still not happy The reason she was not happy wasnt because she was greedy Nor was it because she was spoiled or selfish But because she knew what that faint beeping sound in the background ment See this "girl" was never a girl at all And this world never existed Except for in the mind of a young boy Laying on a hospital bed In the same position he had for the last 5 months The boy had gone to sleep one night and never awoke No one knew why and at the start people would come to his bed and talk to him And the girl would listen to everything they said She heard them telling the boy to get better She heard them begging the doctors for an explanation for them to fix this And she also heard them less and less And each time she heard them they sounded less sad And more annoyed Like they didnt care if the boy woke up any more The girl had not heard them in several weeks now The girl sometimes wondered why she cared She had everything she could want But deep down she knew it was all fake Her friends never acted right Her family wasnt together and hadn't been for over a decade She wasnt even made to be a girl Sometimes the girl would be sad in her world And because she controlled it the world reflected that back at her Her "friends" would surround her yelling at her and moking her Preying on her vulnerabilities and insecurities They would hit her and make fun of her She knew it wasnt real She knew she could will it to stop But she never did Because she knew this is what would happen if her friends knew every deep dark detail of her life But that rarely happened Shed try to tell herself everything is okay That her friends dont hate her That his parents dont resent him for the hospital bill That she was a girl But she knew it wasn't real
