Confusion

So, I’m a technology student, and I feel like I’m not progressing the way I should. I spent a year studying, yet right now it feels like I have nothing to show for it as if I hadn't trained at all. It’s killing me, because I feel trapped in an endless cycle of reviewing, trying, and reviewing again. I know I’m partly to blame; everything requires hands-on practice, and I know I haven't practiced enough. The problem is, I’ve always been afraid of making mistakes, and I still have to overcome that to make any real progress. Anyway, I feel like I sometimes stagnate and get stuck in a rut, I overthink, reflect, and set new goals, but nothing happens. I just watch time slip by with nothing new to show for it... Ultimately, it’s my life and I’m the one who has to do something to change things, but at the same time, I just don't know how
