Believing in God
Why is it so hard for them to accept that I dont believe in God?
I've joined Christianity and Catholic before. Read the bible, which makes me second guessing myself when i read it cause there were some scenario that felt wrong. I joined, I prayed, I worshipped, I listened, and I genuinely tried to understand and believe in it.
It wasn't just something I just rejected without thinking about it. But after some time, I realized that it wasn't for me. Catholic wasn't for me. Christianity wasn't for me. Believing in God wasn't for me. I didn't feel the connection or faith that others seems to have experience.
Prayer isn't really something I can do sincerely when I don't actually believe in the God I'm praying to. I can't force myself to believe something just because other people find comfort in it.
And personally, religion sometimes feels like a coping mechanism to me, a way people find comfort, hope, or meaning when dealing with difficult things. I understand why that's important to people, and I don't judge anyone for finding comfort in it. It just isn't how I personally understand or cope with life.
All I want them to do is respect that I dont believe in God the way I respect them that they believe in it. :(((
