I'm not sure what to do

I had a bad break up with this guy who was a complete asshole, and then I had felt really lonely afterwards. I knew this other guy liked me so I asked him out on a date, Not because I liked him but because I like the idea of having a boyfriend. And now I don't know if I like his personality, like he's not a bad guy but he is super clingy, wants to hangout everyday, and my friends say he's acting like a pick me. I don't know what to do with this situation.
