How do I tell my parents about my boyfriend?
So for context, my parents aren't very open to the idea of my dating anyone outside of my race. The way they grew up, they were taught that if you're white you can't date anyone who's any other race besides that. And my boyfriend is mixed race, his mom is black and his dad is white. In the past I dated a black man, and that whole experience was terrible, my parents would make racist comments and remarks to his face and behind his back. When we broke up because of unrelated reasons, they were relieved. They hate mixed people even more, saying and i quote "they dont even know what they are." Now since then I've never wanted to put another person through that, but then I met my current boyfriend and I explained this all to him, and he still wants to stay in the relationship. He said that he doesn't care what my parents think about the relationship at all. The thing is my parents know about him, but they've never met him. His name is a very common white name, and I've never brought up the fact that he isn't white to them. Recently they've been asking to meet him since we've been dating for about 6 months already. How do I explain this to my parents?
