I don't think my parents take me seriously sometimes (TW: mention of past SH)

As the title says, I don't think they take me seriously regarded my interests or problems.. I remember it was coming near my birthday and I wanted a specific cake. At the time I was a huge fan of Percy Jackson (and I still am to this day), I wanted the cake to have orange frosting and the actual cake batter to be blue. And my parents where a like "what?! Why?!" Like they thought it was a silly idea... One night my mom called me to get the details of the cake, she called me a "Percy Jackson fanatic" jokingly, and I said I wasn't... Then she said something like "says the girl with scars on her thigh" and I just sat there stunned. It was true, during a really dark period for me, I carved in the initials of my favorite character... We got done talking and I just cried. Another time, (before the first event) my mom said "yeah you ruined your skin over some stupid stuff" she doesn't even know the real reason but she wants to act like she does just because she used to sh when she was younger. I hate when my mom dumbs it down or jokes about MY scars, which I never have her the green light to do so. Now my dad... On day, he was driving me to school and I was wearing a bracelet I made that said "Hypnos Cabin 15" because I see myself as a child of Hypnos. He asked me what is was and I said a Percy Jackson bracelet. And he acted surprise and thought I was talking about some other Percy Jackson or something.. Then he said "do you worship that stupid stuff?" Referring to Greek gods, which I didn't at the time, but I like looking into the religion behind it. Over all I don't feel like they ever take me seriously. And they wonder why I never open my mouth about stuff or when I'm stressed.
