Spanish language in the Americas

Ironically, among the goals of colonization around 1600 and 1700 were to unify the world by forcing cultural norms onto other cultures. That colonization divided people and spread languages like Spanish and English. . To pale north americans who say "I don't want to learn Spanish!"- Join the club! The real Americans in Mayan regions of Central America and the people of South America didn't want to have to learn Spanish either!
