Most friendships don’t end, they just stop
There’s rarely a fight. There’s a slower reply, then a slower one, then a birthday message, then nothing — and both people are perfectly fine and neither is angry.
I don’t think that’s tragic, exactly. It just doesn’t get a name, so it never gets acknowledged. A lot of ordinary grief has no paperwork.
