Seeing UP (University of the Philippines) graduates makes me feel jealous

Just as the title says, UP has been a dream school of mine ever since I was young. It's one of the best universities in my country, especially in research, and considering my dream program (Microbiology) it's THE most ideal. Unfortunately, I didn't even have the chance to apply for the entrance exam in the first place because I wasn't informed that the application date for my batch was a year ago :(. Currently, I'm now an incoming 3rd year at my university. Regrettably, I didn't get a score high enough in my uni's entrance exam to get in microbiology; however, I was instead given the option to choose a sibling biology program called biodiversity. My college experience will always be this unforgettable moment in my life especially with all the hard lessons I've learned over the years. And yet still, I yearn to be enrolled in the microbiology program of my university, and yearn more shall I to the "what ifs" of my dream school. It's honestly been pretty hard with all of that mental gymnastics to cope with my predicament. I literally had a life planned out with me being a microbiologist, resesrching rural jungle microorganisms for antibiotic potential or something. Yet, I got lemons..
