Try drawing a bicycle from memory
Everyone knows how a bicycle works. Almost nobody can draw one that would roll. Same with a zip, a flushing toilet, or how the electricity gets into the wall.
We mistake familiarity for understanding constantly. Being able to use a thing and being able to explain it are miles apart, and the gap is invisible from the inside.
