‎He told me he doesn't want marriage because "he won't get lonely as long as he has me." Is he in love or just peak Slow/Oblivious? 😭 ‎ ‎ ‎Okay, I need a collective reality check from you guys because I am going absolutely insane over my coworker/best friend. ‎ ‎ ‎I’m a 26F elementary school teacher, and he’s a 33M teacher at the same school. He’s my senior, but over time, we’ve basically become inseparable best friends. Our routine is pretty much merged at this point... ‎ ‎We eat lunch together every single workday. We go out for dinner regularly. We hang out at his house on weekends, or he comes over to mine. We talk about everything to each other, We basically know all of each other's secrets. ‎Naturally, as the years passed, I fell for him. HARD. The problem? He is the most SLOW, OBLIVIOUS, NUMB... person on the face of the planet. I have dropped hints, made effort, and tried to subtly gauge where his head is at, but everything seems to fly right over his head. LIKE I'M GOING CRAZY. ‎ ‎Today, I decided to test the waters a bit. I casually asked him if he ever thinks about getting married. His exact response: He said he’s not interested in marriage right now because he won’t get lonely as long as he has me. ‎ ‎EXCUSE ME?!!!!??!!!! 🫠 ‎ ‎Part of me was screaming, "Girl, he just confessed that you fill the role of a life partner for him!" But the other part of me knows how clueless he is and thinks, "What if he literally just views me as his ultimate emotional safety net/bestie and has zero idea I’m romanticizing this?" ‎ ‎So, Internet... ‎ ‎Does this man actually have deep feelings for me and just doesn't realize it yet? ‎ ‎Is he consciously keeping me in a comfortable "wife-lite" zone without the commitment? ‎ ‎Or is he truly just that oblivious to what saying something like that implies? ‎ ‎How do I handle a 33-year-old man who says the most romantic, wife-level things completely unprompted while being totally blind to my actual feelings? HELP!🫪🫠 ‎
