Grieving the could've been me in the midst of becoming

Will the younger me be disappointed if I said that my dream right now is simply to live a stable life? :) It sucks realizing that, somewhere along the way, poverty quietly watered down my dreams. I used to dream big,I wanted to be everything all at once. I miss the days when my biggest problem was figuring out how I'd become all those versions of myself. It's not that my dreams rn are worth any less. But it hurts to realize that something so ordinary for others feels like a privilege to me. How something that should've been easy to grasp is so out of reach. I can't believe my dream is to one day stop worrying about money-to stop feeling like I'm always lacking. I hate the fact that my dreams were slowly narrowed by circumstances I never chose. I never chose to be poor? It's not that I'm not capable, but because those doors were never unlocked for me in the first place. The opportunities I might have taken, the paths I might have explored, the version of me that could have become even one of those dreams had those possibilities been within reach. And I think I will always grieve that version of myself. A loss I'll carry for a very long time, even after I achieve the dreams I h
